Spring break is coming in a week! I’m looking forward to it because of all the great events planned for that week, especially going to Evan’s place for lunch and some wagerless games. Its great to take a week off from homework, quizzes, midterms and competitions, and just have fun with friends.

I recently took part in the AMATYC SML competition that is optional and open to all students in the college. It is similar to the Math Olympiads for those of you in Singapore. I never went for it the previous two semesters because of various reasons, including but not limited to laziness. For some unknown reason, I decided to go for it the night before the competition this time. I looked at a set of past paper that midnight, and then took the test for fun, not expecting much. A week later, I was sitting somewhere outside the “Math Room” reading random articles, and David came over and said to me, “Hey Pius, they need the number one to be in there”.
